        • How to flush the cooling system? Three easy ways!

          Types of cooling system contamination

          One of the reasons for the overheating of the power unit is the clogging of the car's cooling system, which occurs during its operation. To prevent the system from clogging, it is necessary to periodically flush it. Find more here: oil in anti freeze

          Foreign substances that accumulate over time do not allow the coolant to circulate normally, cool down and heat up, which is why it cannot fully cope with the functions assigned to it. Such substances are:

          - scale - formed if non-distilled water is used as a coolant;

          - pollution - sand, dust, residues of engine oil , sealant;

          - the result of aging of antifreeze - over time it gradually decomposes, leaving a residue.

          How to flush the cooling system and radiator from harmful deposits?

          To clean the cooling system, you can turn to professionals who have the necessary tools and skills, but this procedure is not so difficult, so it is quite possible to flush the cooling system yourself.

          The cooling system is flushed using water, acidified water or special preparations - the choice depends on the degree of pollution. If the system is relatively clean, then ordinary distilled or boiled water is enough, which is poured inside, after which the engine is allowed to idle for 10-15 minutes. Then the water is drained and the procedure is repeated until the liquid is clear when draining.

        • For more serious radiator contamination, it is better to take acidified water, consisting of vinegar essence, caustic soda and lactic acid. It is poured into the cooling system, the engine is allowed to idle, then it is muffled and the sequence of actions is repeated. After 2-2.5 hours, the liquid is drained and a new one is poured, thus, the total duration of flushing with a run through the distilled water system reaches 6-7 hours.

          Instead of acidified water, you can use ready-made preparations - flushing the cooling system that are sold in car dealerships. They are acidic, neutral and alkaline, and you cannot mix different types of products. Some products are two-component and consist of alkaline and acidic solutions, the specific use of which is described on the packaging.

          Before flushing in any way, you should drain the antifreeze and fill it at the end. A clean liquid is poured again, and the one that has lost its characteristics is changed.
